Leo’s Crossing is a design-build custom home project of Kasia Karska Design’s. The name “Leo’s Crossing” memorializes a beloved Australian Shepherd named Leo. And Leo’s Crossing is a place that any furry friend or human would love to call home. It is situated at the pinnacle of the beautiful development in which it is located. Striking 360-degree mountain views take your breath away.
Like all of the custom homes that Kasia (KKD owner, lead designer, and GC) designs, this one was very intentionally thought out right from the beginning. The home was strategically oriented along the lot for optimal views, ideal sun exposure, and harmony within its environment.
Kasia is always a huge proponent for the utilization and incorporation of natural light. This means her homes are designed with floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive glass doors opening up to the purposeful outdoor spaces she includes in her designs. She also favors using windows as the kitchen’s backsplash. It’s another great way to add more natural light, as well as capture surrounding views. And when it comes to views and the outdoor environment, Kasia is always intentional about creating seamless transitions from indoor to outdoor spaces. This allows for more harmony within the home, as well as gives the owners the opportunity to truly enjoy the beautiful place they call home: the Rocky Mountains of the Vail Valley.
